  • Adult novel: All That’s Left Unsaid (Tracey Lien, HQ Fiction)
  • Young adult novel: Seven Days (Fleur Ferris, PRH)

'The amount of quality entries each year continues to climb as publishers invest in works that display the authorial skills and inventiveness amongst both Australia's established and rookie crime writers,' said Judge Philomena Horsley. In addition, a rising number of writers are going their own way, self-publishing their stories. The end consequence is a bonanza for the public who enjoys crime.'

Debi Marshall, a journalist, true-crime author, and television producer, presented the Davitt Awards during a gala dinner in Melbourne on September 2.

Charlotte McConaghy for Once There Were Wolves (Hamish Hamilton) and Kate Holden for The Winter Road: A Story of Legacy, Land, and a Killing at Croppa Creek (Black Inc.) were among last year's winners.
